Client's problem
Organoid Technologies GmbH specializes in innovative, bio-organic surfaces made from natural materials such as alpine hay, flowers, and moss. These materials are highly tactile, visually rich, and unique in their structure. The client faced a key challenge in the digital representation of their products. Traditional photography and standard textures were not able to fully capture the depth, detail, and authenticity of these complex organic surfaces—especially at the level required by architects and designers for professional use. Organoid needed: Ultra-high-resolution digital materials that faithfully reproduce the natural look and structure A reliable scanning partner capable of capturing these materials with precision and consistency Ready-to-use assets for architects and designers to integrate into their workflows Visualizations and animations that showcase the materials in a variety of real-world and conceptual environments The goal was to bridge the gap between the physical uniqueness of their products and their digital usability in architecture and design.
Our solution
To address these challenges, we provided a comprehensive digitization and visualization solution tailored to the specific nature of Organoid’s bio-based materials. We began by scanning the materials in ultra-high resolution, ensuring that every detail—from fine organic fibers to natural irregularities—was accurately captured. Our calibrated workflow preserved true-to-life color and material response, enabling seamless use across digital platforms. The output included: High-quality PBR textures optimized for architectural visualization and real-time applications Consistent, scalable digital assets ready for integration into designers’ workflows Materials prepared for distribution through digital platforms such as Reawote In addition, we developed a series of visualizations and animations that present Organoid materials in diverse interior and architectural contexts. These outputs highlight not only the aesthetic qualities of the materials but also their versatility and application potential. The result is a powerful digital toolkit that allows Organoid to effectively communicate the value of their products, while enabling architects and designers to confidently specify and work with their materials in digital environments.
